spines -- a flowering species in the Cactaceae
family -- native to Chihuahuan deserts. Golden
barrel are slow growers to over 3ft
high, usually 1ft high to 2ft around and do not bloom until they reach 20
years of age. Flowers are
bright yellow; 1-2 in wide; and bloom in summertime during the day.
